The majority of the existing surveillance system was retained, but a new LILIN digital recorder was installed so that it could all be controlled through the Control4 interfaces and deliver both live multi-screen images and full playback control from the televisions and controllers in the home.
LILIN has extensive IP drivers for all the main home automation platforms and goes to great lengths to make sure cameras and both analogue and digital recorders can integrate perfectly.
Security is a high priority for Tom as in addition to owning some very valuable vehicles; his main priority is the safety of his family.
Living Design prides itself on the fact that 95% of its business is generated by word of mouth.
“It’s fantastic to hear our business is coming from clients who are overwhelmed by the support and services we offer,” says the main integrator, Damon.
“Tom doesn’t settle for second best,” states Jason Hill, group vice president at LILIN. “He works in an environment where one small wrong detail can wipe thousands off the value of a vehicle. He took that same exacting standard to this project and wanted everything to work beautifully. I’m very pleased our products were able to match his expectations, and also that the existing equipment is performing so well years later. It’s a shame cameras don’t increase in value like classic cars!”
“LILIN products have proven to be reliable and adaptable,” enthuses Tom. “When I chose to go down the route of home automation my existing system was able to be cost-effectively upgraded so that it integrates perfectly. Like my clients – I’m very demanding; everything has to be just right and work as advertised. Integrating so much technology yet delivering simple control is a challenge, even with today’s high tech; but it is one that Living Design and LILIN have delivered on.”
