At Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2018, Sharp is showing its largest ever range of flexible signage solutions, with the launch of two smart display ranges for the mainstream market, with System on Chip (SoC) or Mini OPS options, and a wider choice of third-party applications.

Sharp announces that its partner network, the Sharp Open Architecture Platform, now includes retail and corporate signage solutions from seven major software companies, including CityMeo, Grassfish, Stino and Signagelive.

Two new families of large format display

Sharp is showing two new smart display ranges for the mainstream market, the PN-M and PN-B. Both ranges include 40in (PN-M401 and PN-B401) and 50in (PN-M501 and PN-B501) options. The PN-M series is designed for demanding environments with 24/7 use. The PN-B series is designed for standard environments with 16/7 use.

Sharp is offering customers the ability to get creative with signage, by making it possible to install the PN-M and PN-B displays face-up, face-down, tilted forward or backward up to a 90-degree angle installation, or hanging from the four corners of the rear housing. Similar flexible options will be demonstrated on stand via a unique curve installation made of five Sharp PN-R496 displays, Sharp’s premium signage range.

Multiple options for managing on-screen content

Sharp’s new smart digital signage displays offer multiple play options, thanks to embedded intelligence that provides various ways of handling content, with a solution for every level of project, from the simple to the complex.

For simple installations, at ISE Sharp will show its own free signage software, e-Signage. The S Player Edition is pre-installed on System on Chip (SoC) in the PN-M and PN-B ranges, allowing the displays to be used right out of the box.

For more tailored installations, Sharp’s SoC platform for Android has been opened to major signage software players through its partner program – Sharp Open Architecture Platform. The platform provides businesses with the option of adding on specialised software to fit their needs. Sharp announces that it has added new partners to the platform and is now working with CityMeo, Easyscreen, Grassfish, Signagelive, Stino, Navori and Videro.

Sharp is also offering another way to extend the functions of PN-M and PN-B displays via a Mini OPS expansion slot. Three types of Mini OPS modules (PC, Wireless, and HDBaseT) give users a wide range of extra display and interactivity options. The compact Mini OPS modules are easy to install, use and maintain.

Options for retailers on show in the Sharp Shop

Part of Sharp’s stand will be dedicated to the Sharp Shop, demonstrating retail signage in action. The 40in and 50in PN-B will be set up in both portrait and landscape mode, displaying a digital poster and fashion video via Sharp’s SoC, showcasing powerful stand-alone operation and flexible installation combinations.

The range wall on stand will also showcase Sharp’s full range of displays side-by-side, which includes options from 55in – 90in, Full HD to 4K, and entry-level to premium choices.
