Powersoft Answers 4 Questions On The Quattrocanali Amplifier Series

Marc Kocks PowersoftPowersoft debuted its new four-channel amplifier platform at ISE 2017, offering the CI sector the new Quattrocanali series, which is made up of three models. The launch of the Quattrocanali series follows the introduction of the eight-channel amplifier platform, the Ottocanali, and Powersoft’s two-channel amplifier platform, Duecanali.

Marc Kocks, business development manager at Powersoft, answers four questions on the series, covering target applications, ease of use for installers and systems integrators, and why it stands out from the competition.

  1. What Is The Quattrocanali Series?

The Powersoft Quattrocanali Series is a one-rack unit four-channel amplifier which is ideal for small to medium size installations such as bars, restaurants, retail outlets and fitness centres. The series include three models, all of which boast a serious punch, making it the perfect solutions for venues and shops who are looking for crisp sound, full control and sustained output volume.

It features Powersoft’s trademark switch-mode power supply with power factor correction, smart rail management and bridgeable switch mode fixed frequency Class D output circuit topology.

  1. Why Should Systems Integrators Consider The Quattrocanali For Small To Medium Sized Applications?

The new Quattrocanali series addresses the system integrators’ requirements for small and medium size applications where the channel count is limited and the need for a flexible product to work with Hi-Z and Lo-Z systems is a must.

Powersoft recognised that systems integrators are looking for high performance amplifiers for leisure and retail spaces, in particular. There are growing expectations for amplifier platforms that are capable of providing excellent sonic quality and control while offering a simple interface for the end users. This Series offers from 300W to 1,200Wper channels, making it the perfect tools for venues seeking both pristine and reliable sound.

  1. What Makes The Quattrocanali Stand Out From Its Competitors?

First of all, its power to size ratio is second to none: We understand that space can be typically scarce and comes at a premium price for end users. All three models from the Quattrocanali Series can be installed in most places, and the fact that the Quattrocanali boasts the lowest thermal dissipation ratings in the industry means that no external cooling is required. The technologies embedded in the Quattrocanali Series not only foster sound quality, they enhance sound performances by recycling the otherwise wasted speaker reactive energy, delivering more stable power throughout the spectrum.

  1. How Does The Quattrocanali Help To Simplify Usage For Both Technical And Non-Technical Operators?

Quattrocanali is available in both DSP and non-DSP versions, and is fully remote controllable via standard GPI/O connections on the back panel, Powersoft’s proprietary Armonìa software, dedicated web app, or third party application.

Powersoft’s DSP is recognised as an industry standard and can be found in the flagship touring product X-series, in the eight channel fixed-install Ottocanali series as well as in the Quattrocanali series. It offers the most advanced control and monitoring of the entire sound system with a matrix, raised cosine and FIR filters, delays and Powersoft’s unique active damping control, 5 limiters, live impedance monitoring and more.

The Quattrocanali seamlessly integrates within a networking environment and can be remotely operated via the web app and Armonìa, allowing for decentralised location, further reducing the need for personnel. Furthermore the Quattrocanali offers an intuitive third party control tool, allowing full monitoring and control by many control systems including Crestron.

The operator may also set up the Quattrocanali offline, saving precious time and enabling the audio engineer to work on presets. The fully-customisable interface seamlessly integrates all devices in one easy-to-manage screen, so that everything displayed can be monitored at a glance.

The installer can set up different criteria through the access manager, limiting control functions to guest users (such as sales assistants or venue managers) so they can only access the main monitoring functions such as sound volume and zoning, while leaving full operability to qualified admin users.

Remote access, monitoring and diagnostic to the Quattrocanali is available both through standard Cat5 cabled and wi-fi networks, so that the user can be just a click away from unleashing its full potential and tweaking parameters – whether via laptop, PC, tablet or smartphone. Quattrocanali’s architecture may also be trusted in mission-critical applications where sound clarity and intelligibility are paramount, by exploiting the GPI/O connections.
