BluOS enabled systems from NAD Electronics now integrate with Control4 home automation systems for whole-home music streaming and control.

NAD Electronics recently announced that its line of BluOS enabled audio systems is now Control4 certified, having passed interoperability tests to ensure BluOS enabled devices integrate with Control4 home automation systems. The complete Control4 certification process also includes the incorporation of Control4 Simple Device Discovery Protocol (SDDP), ensuring faster, simpler and more cost-effective installation of BluOS enabled products by Control4 installers and dealers, says the maker.

“A large portion of our global dealer network uses Control4 systems,” says Andrew Haines, BluOS product manager. “It is important for us to provide them a premium music solution, allowing customers to access hi-res libraries on their home network and stream many popular music streaming services, while working seamlessly with other connected apps and products throughout the home.”

In the zone with Control4 and NAD

NAD offers a variety of BluOS ready and enabled home audio solutions that are designed to meet the needs of music listeners and installers, with products ranging from audiophile-quality traditional Hi-Fi components to custom rack-mounted multi-zone amplifiers. BluOS, is the music operating system natively integrated into select devices in the Classic, Masters and Custom Install Series, created to help dealers and integrators offer rich, intuitive music experiences and custom control applications that integrate with customers’ existing Control4 automation system.

“We are very happy that NAD are a part of the Connects with Control4 partner ecosystem,” says Noel Gouff, senior director of Control4 business development. “Not only is NAD a growing leader in hi-res audio distribution, but the two-way interface allows for both a rich music experience for users and a quicker and more seamless integration for dealers and installers.”

Music functions and controls for BluOS enabled devices can now be operated through any of Control4’s control interfaces including voice control, touch screens, handheld remote controls, wireless keypads, mobile devices using the Control4 app. The BluOS driver also includes rich metadata support for touchscreens and remotes displaying artist/song information with full-colour album artwork.
