Available now, Groove can now be accessed in beta form from the Sonos controller, allowing users to stream music from the service directly to their multi-room audio system.
Surprisingly, Sonos never supported Microsoft’s previous music streaming efforts; neither Zune nor Xbox Music ever allowed streaming via the Sonos controller.
Groove launched alongside Microsoft’s updated operating system, Windows 10, which rolled out to 190 countries yesterday.
Unlike Apple Music, Groove is not just a subscription-based streaming service, with OneDrive functionality allowing users to upload tracks they already own to stream on any device they may have.
Groove is available for Sonos in the following markets: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Indonesia, Ireland, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the United States.
